New Jeep Wrangler Now In SA With 2.0-litre Engine
The new Jeep Wrangler has arrived, bringing with it a significant upgrade under the hood. Jeep’s iconic off-roader now features a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, delivering an impressive 200 kW and 400 Nm of torque.
This new powertrain, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, enhances both on-road refinement and off-road performance while meeting stringent European Euro 6D-Final emissions standards. The addition of a twin-scroll, low-inertia turbocharger ensures quick throttle response, while an advanced cooling system optimizes durability and efficiency.
True to its heritage, the new Wrangler maintains its legendary off-road capability with a body-on-frame construction, solid Dana axles, and an advanced five-link suspension system. Rubicon models take things even further with a next-generation Dana 44 HD full-float rear axle, a feature typically found in heavy-duty commercial trucks.
This upgrade significantly strengthens the rear axle, ensuring it can handle the toughest trails without compromise. Additionally, an electronic front sway-bar disconnect allows for extra wheel articulation, providing more control in extreme off-road conditions.

Every Wrangler model proudly wears the Trail Rated badge, signifying its ability to tackle the most challenging terrains. Standard features include a two-speed transfer case, traction control, skid plates, tow hooks, and large off-road tyres – measuring at least 81 cm in diameter. Sport models come equipped with 17-inch steel wheels, while the Sahara features 18-inch alloys. The Rubicon stands out with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in mud-terrain tyres, making it the ultimate adventure-ready variant.
Inside, Jeep has refined the Wrangler’s cabin to enhance both comfort and technology. A new 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage, offering wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a fully customizable interface. The system supports multiple user profiles, over-the-air updates, and TomTom navigation with live traffic updates.
Premium models like the Sahara and Rubicon benefit from improved sound insulation, thicker carpeting, and acoustic front glass for a quieter ride. The redesigned dashboard incorporates soft-touch materials with contrast stitching, while new AMPS bracket provisions make it easier to mount accessories.
Jeep has also bolstered safety, with more than 85 advanced features available across the lineup. Standard equipment includes front and side-curtain airbags for both seating rows, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-path detection, and a ParkSense front and rear park-assist system. New additions such as Drowsy Driver Alert and Lane Departure Warning further enhance occupant protection.

Rubicon models receive an off-road camera with both front and rear views, ensuring drivers have a clear view of obstacles ahead.
The new Jeep Wrangler lineup consists of three trims: the Sport, priced at R1 199 900, the Sahara at R1 249 900, and the top-spec Rubicon at R1 299 900. All models are backed by a five-year/100 000 km warranty and service plan, which includes roadside assistance.
