All-New Renault Duster Now In SA
Renault has introduced the third-generation Duster, a complete overhaul of the popular compact SUV that has been a staple in the South African market since 2013. Known for its rugged appeal, practicality, and affordability, the latest Duster builds on its predecessors’ success while incorporating modern technology, improved safety, and enhanced powertrains.
Built on Renault’s CMF-B platform, the new SUV promises better ride quality, improved interior space, and more versatility without compromising its off-road credentials.

A Bold Exterior Redesign
The third-generation Renault Duster takes on a more muscular and assertive design, retaining its signature ruggedness while embracing modern styling elements. At the front, a larger grille featuring Renault’s new logo dominates, flanked by signature Y-shaped LED headlights that enhance visibility. The boxier and more angular silhouette gives it a tougher stance, while flared wheel arches with chunky cladding further emphasize its off-road character.
A higher ground clearance of up to 217 mm (for the 4WD variant) ensures the Duster remains a capable off-roader, while new modular roof bars can support up to 70 kg of additional storage, ideal for adventure seekers. Rear door handles are now integrated into the C-pillar for a sleeker look, and the skid plates have been reinforced for added durability, making the Duster well-equipped for rough terrains.

A More Modern and Spacious Interior
Step inside, and the third-generation Duster greets occupants with a completely redesigned, more practical, and user-friendly cabin. Renault has focused on ergonomics, with an intuitive layout that includes a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen featuring the latest Renault User Interface. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard, ensuring seamless smartphone connectivity.
A new modular accessory system, dubbed YouClip, allows for enhanced practicality inside the cabin, offering multiple attachment points for storage solutions. The CMF-B platform has enabled better space utilization, providing increased legroom and improved boot space of up to 472 litres (for 4×2 variants). Additionally, redesigned seats offer better lumbar support and improved cushioning for long-distance comfort.

No More Diesel Duster?
Under the bonnet, Renault has introduced more efficient petrol powertrains, moving away from diesel options altogether. The 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine (113 kW/250 Nm) powers the two 4×2 models, and is paired with a 6-speed manual or an EDC dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
For those seekingoff-road capability, the 4WD version is equipped with a mild-hybrid 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (96 kW/230 Nm), promising improved fuel economy without sacrificing performance. Renault has opted to discontinue diesel powertrains due to evolving emissions regulations and the increasing viability of hybrid technology.
